I was born and raised in Kankakee County; grew up in Bourbonnais. I started working in real estate as an Administrative Assistant for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in 1990. Working in a real estate office made me aware of how much I enjoyed the advertising and marketing aspect of the business; working with various real estate agents made me realize I could do a great job in real estate sales.
Though I was eager to get started, a career in real estate would have to be put on hold for awhile. I decided to be a stay-at-home mom from 1994 to 1999. During this time I was a full-time parent, part-time student, and started a home-based, résumé writing service.
In 1999, I started working for an employment agency as the Sales and Marketing Manager in charge of Business Development.
In 2001, I worked for a national real estate trainer and speaker as his Office Manager and Event Coordinator. I was exposed to a lot of real estate marketing concepts and coaching. More than ever, I became interested in the real estate business. I knew I had the drive, motivation and desire to have a successful career in real estate.
Still, a real estate career would have to wait. In 2002, I made a choice to be a full-time parent again, as well as a community volunteer.
In 2005, I could wait no longer. My husband and I were in the market to buy a home and more than once we were disappointed by the lack of knowledge, dedication and customer service we received from more than one real estate agent. I now know that there are plenty of wonderful agents in our community, but perhaps it was meant to be that I would be disappointed enough to finally pursue a real estate career of my own. In 2005, I finally obtained my real estate license and hit the ground running!
I enjoy working with homeowners; selling and marketing their homes allows me to incorporate my passion for photography and computer technology. I dedicate a great deal of time to photos, virtual tours, print advertising and brochures for every home I put on the market. This allows me to generate the greatest possible level of interest in a particular home. Computers and the Internet are second nature to me and I utilize every resource available.
I also enjoy working with buyers. Helping buyers find a home is especially rewarding for me. It allows to me to fulfill my desire to educate and counsel people. First time home buyers are the ultimate satisfaction, because they are the ones who need you the most and are the least aware of the process of buying a home. Their excitement is very infectious!
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent, real estate professional- integrity, in depth market and community knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills, and a high quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
My ‘client first’ philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business.

Short Sale & Foreclosure Certification – 2010
For many real estate professionals, short sales and foreclosures are the new "traditional" real estate transaction. Knowing how to help sellers maneuver the complexities of short sales as well as help buyers pursue short sale and foreclosure opportunities are not merely good skills to have in today's market — they are critical. And while short sales and foreclosures are not for the faint of heart, agents with the proper tools and training can use these specialty areas to build their business for the long term. REALTORS® with the SFR certification can be a trusted resource for short sales and foreclosures.
